Jury rights for Dad? In a CA juvenile dependency court case?

Jury rights for Dad? In a CA juvenile dependency court case?

Not yet. There was a Dad -along with his legal team – seeking to become the first parent in California to secure jury trial rights in an appeal to the 2nd District Court of Appeal. The matter began in family court, as the mother is a family‑law attorney. During the divorce, she contacted Child Protective Services (CPS), a tactic that often shifts a family‑law dispute into the dependency system. The link below contains the arguments presented to the 2nd District. As far as we are aware, no other parent in California is currently pursuing an appellate strategy aimed at securing jury trial rights, despite the fact that every parent in family or juvenile dependency court is denied such a right when facing the loss of legal custody. CLICK HERE
